My wacky mom
Funny thing happened today . . . my Mom called and she actually asked me about bike racing (something that she never does). I should have known that this would not go well but I got sucked in by the unusualness of her inquiry. So she asked if the races had different categories . . . and I said that indeed there were several different race categories. Then my Mom asked which one I raced in so I told her that I was racing in the A category or Elite. And what did she say??? She told me that I should move down a category. She never asked me how I was doing or how I placed at races this season. She didn't say maybe that was taking on a lot given my knee surgery. Oh no. She didn't have any information to inform that comment. I guess it's purely based on the fact that I flunked phy-ed class on several occasions in high school. My Mom so knows how to get on my nerves . . . . at least it wasn't as bad as when she asked Dave when I was going to give up those silly sports and have some children. Now that was funny (mostly because I didn't have to figure out how to respond and Dave did).
