Party training
I left work early again today so I could get in a hard ride. It's such a pain having it be dark by the time I get done with work. However, I need to get in some hard riding if I'm going to Nationals. I have to try and keep increasing my fitness so I don't embarrass myself there. So this week I'm doing hard workouts and I know that Sheboygan's race will be hard for me because of that. However, theoretically it should be a good long term investment in my fitness and as the weeks count down to Nationals that matters. I mean train hard or don't train hard I'll probably still be last or nearly so at Sheboygan so I might as well take the long term approach and do some hard training.
Last night I broke out the super high powered light and went for a ride after work. I think I blinded a few people on the bike path. Tomorrow I'll be breaking the light out again as I've got another hard ride planned but I have meetings in the afternoon so I won't be able to get out of work. Although it's a pain having it be dark all the time but it is kind of cool being the only person out training.
I've also started upping my party training in hopes that I can get invited to cool post-race parties in Providence. Last night I did half-price margarita night at Pasquals and tonight fancy schmanzy wine drinking at a party at A Stone's Throw (the awesome outdoor clothing store in Madison). I'm a lightweight . . .two glasses of wine and I was already feeling the affects. I better start hitting the keggers in the neighborhood if I don't want to be dancing on the tables come December.
