Multi-tasking

Last night I practiced the art of multi-tasking. I wanted to get some studying done and I also needed to go to the Capitol Velo Club spin class so I wanted to maximize my time.

I'm not sure my multi-tasking went perfectly. For my photography class I have reading materials with taped comments by my instructors that supplement the readings. I had already done the readings this last weekend on my ski trip so I just needed to listen to the comments. So I was walking around the house listening to the supplementary information while getting all my stuff together for spin class.

So I'm getting my stuff together and listening to the tapes but periodically I would have to run into the living room to get my notebook and take notes. It was pretty funny actually. Being techno-geeks like we are Dave transferred the tapes to digital while I was at spin class so I can put them on my mp3 player (tape players are so retro and bulky). I have this vision of studying while I'm out skiing, running or biking. I'm not sure how taking notes would work in that scenario though and I would have to always cheat and do the readings and the supplementary audio information at different times. It's not been a problem with the first few chapters since they are all reveiw but I don't know if it will work when we get to the chapters that are not review.

Oh yeah, and I survived spin class. I did, however, refuse to take one of the bikes in the front of the class. I didn't think it would look good for the team if new members saw my pathetic attempt at biking. I tried to keep myself reined in as I didn't think I needed to kill myself the first time. I did last for the full hour though which was a big accomplishment and so far I feel okay.

On other fronts . . . . SNOW, SNOW, SNOW. That is what the forcast is calling for tonight and into tomorrow so maybe I'll be able to ski right here in town this weekend. That would be cool!

Thursday is Active Women's Night at A Stone's Throw . . . if you're an active woman in the Madison area you should go!
