Intervals on a Monday

Last night I did two 15 minute intervals in the "mid" zone. Good times for sure! They went pretty well actually. However, the endorphins that can be caused by riding mildly hard can cause you to agree to crazy things. When local cross racer Paul R. called to see if I was still in for going to the US Gran Prix race in Gloucester I said yes. Ten days ago I was absolutely not going to go as my fitness isn't really where I wanted it to be to do the elite women's race at a GP and getting lapped is kind of lame (I experienced enough of that last year). However, I had a few good rides and the next thing you know I'm all for going (having a Pasquals margarita helps the confidence too). Looks like it will be me, Paul, Travis and Glenn off to the GP.

Of course, given that I've been feeling better on the bike this morning I woke up feeling like hell. My knee hurt from all the hard efforts I've been doing in the last week so I had to ride to work at a snail's pace. Plus I must have slept in a weird position as my neck is killing me. I could hardly look over my shoulder for traffic this morning which was really nice. That may mean no "alt-bomb" for me tonight since I don't think I would feel comfortable riding in a pack when I can hardly move my head. You know it's bad when you can't drink from your soda can after it is partially gone as you can't tip your head back.

That sounds a lot like the symptoms I get just before I get a cold, so be careful! And is there anyone up for a road trip to Boulder in November? Especially those who can't make Gloucester?
