Where has Renee been?
I feel like there is not enough time. Okay, so I feel like that most of the time but a little more than usual lately. This weekend was Madison Winter Festival. Love the event but am always exhausted by the time it is all over. I've taken photos at the event every year but this year I was the only event photographer so I was there even more than usual. I am pretty sure I volunteered almost 40 hours by the time I got all the photos uploaded. Check them out.
The best part of the weekend is that Dave also volunteers. He is the chief starter for all the races . . . basically he yells "go" a lot. It's actually a kind of stressful job making sure all the starts go smoothly and there are no false starts or that he is out of sync with the timing company.
Anyway, on Saturday the contractor was coming to install our appliances which would have been smooth if he would have arrived early in the morning. Of course, the contractor had things come up and didn't get there until not much before Dave had to leave. I was able to get away briefly to check in on things but ended up missing one of the races I should have photographed. It made Saturday very chaotic. However, the new appliances are sweet! However, our kitchen is still a mess as now we need a little work on cabinets that were altered to fit the new wall oven and we also are replacing the tile behind the cooktop and sink. I'm hoping everything will be done by the weekend so we can get our kitchen back to normal. I'll have to post before and after photos when it is all done. It's pretty impressive already as we leave the 1970s behind!
