Return to exhaustion

On Thursday I felt like I had caught up on my sleep and was ready to get back to life. It wasn't to be though. Thursday night I went to a former co-workers retirement party and when I got home turned on the VP debate. About 9pm my sister called to say my Mom was having some chest pains and had been taken to the hospital. My sister is living in Kansas City right now but her son had taken my Mom. At 10pm I got word that they were going to do immediate surgery. By 10:30pm Dave and I were packed and on the road to Green Bay. By the time we got to the hospital my Mom was out of surgery and on the road to recovery. By 3pm she'd settled in for the night and we checked into the hospital hotel. Today was spent hanging out at the hospital with my Mom. It looks like she's getting out tomorrow. Another night in the hospital hotel for me and Dave. At least we'll get a whole night's sleep.
