My last intervals

I think that tonight was probably my last set of intervals for the cross season. I thought it might be a little chilly but it really wasn't too bad. It wasn't windy so the 20 degree temperature didn't feel too bad.

Anyway, I had two 15 minute intervals on the training plan for tonight. I did my warm up on the trainer as my knee doesn't like riding in the cold until it is warmed up. Then I headed out and did my intervals back and forth through the Arb. It's nice and peaceful there on a chilly winter night. I only saw one other person on a bike and they were commuting home and one jogger. Pretty quiet night out there.

This weekend I've decided that I will race in Chicago instead of making the trip to Kansas City. It's tempting to go to KC to check out the future national course but I really need to have some time this weekend to get ready for the trip to Providence. The lure of a good road trip is hard to pass up though. Most people by my age no longer enjoy getting in the car and driving to some far away locale for a weekend and then having to drive back. For some reason I still find that alluring. I guess if you are used to sitting in an office all day being a bureaucrat the open road looks pretty appealing. Anway, I'd go to KC if I didn't have a crazy work schedule next week but I know that I won't have much time next week and we're flying out way early Thursday morning from O'Hare. I need to have some time to do laundry, locate bike clothes for every possible weather condition, make sure the bike is totally dialed and pack. Yikes!

If you haven't seen my road trip documentary from the Jingle Cross race then you should check it out. It was fun to do something a little different this week and not just the usual video of the race.
