Christmas in October
It's official Dave and I are going to CX Nationals. Earlier this week (probably due to the snow) Dave was saying that he wasn't going to go. He was going to focus on nordic skiing starting in December and not race cross. In reality he probaby should. However, Dave is an understanding guy so his Christmas present to me is a road trip to Providence for cross nationals!
Yes, we are going to drive out. That is also kind of stupid given the 150,000 miles on our car and it is an 18 hour drive (and I want to take the long way through Canada). However, I have a LOT of vacation hours some of which have to be used up by the end of the year. We'll have time to drive at a leisurely vacation pace on the way there and I promised Dave I would find interesting places to stop along the way to do our needed training (maybe he can even get in a roller ski). And without a doubt I will try to locate some rockin' vegetarian cafes.
And by then I will really deserve a week off . . . . between now and nationals I have to do 9 Safe Routes to school presentations around the state, announce the Safe Routes to School application process, help move all the stuff out of my Mom's apartment, help find homes for my Mom's pets, ride my bike a few times, do some more races, host a women's road racing improvement meeting, edit loves of photos/videos, and just a couple of other things.
YIKES!
