Mud was the word

So it's been awhile since the Wisconsin cross scene has had a rainy and muddy day. That changed today. It was so muddy that I undid my front brake and I probably should have undone my back one too like some people did.

Here's the crazy thing though . . . . I had my best race in what seems like forever. By far the best race I have had since my knee surgery. I was completely in the zone. I beat women today that I thought I never would have expected to beat. I was actually fifth overall (out of around 13 Cat 1/2 & 3) and was 3rd in the Cat 1/2 field so lots of points for the series! I almost can't believe it.

More later. I just got home from the Mad FORCs/Chainsmoker mountain biker end-of-season party and I need to go to bed. Tomorrow is another race . . . . and it's snowing out. Should be an interesting day. My legs are shot so I don't know if I can repeat the performance I had today especially with some women only doing one day of the double. I don't even care. I'm just so excited to have had a race like today. I finally felt like I actually belonged in the elite women's race. Now to bed . . . .

Great job Saturday. It was so hard I just couldn't do it. It sure is nice to see you come back strong. :-)
