Photos from the road
It was a week of non-stop road trips for work. Monday I was in Eau Claire and then off to Superior. Here's a couple of shots from Superior. First is a shot of the Spur gas station sign. I took a picture because my co-worker, Joe, had never seen a Spur station before and found it to be quite funny. Not really sure why. The other photo is the view from near our hotel.
We came back to Madison and then the next day headed off to Milwaukee. I forgot to take any photos while we were there. However, I made up for it today. Today we headed off to Viroqua and we took some scenic backroads on our way home. I have an all new appreciation for the roads in the area. I never think much of them since I grew up in the area but Joe found all the blind corners and steep blind hills to be quite amazing. He had also never seen an Amish buggy or a Mennonite school before so it was educational for him as well.
Here are some photos from today's road trip. First is this picture from LaFarge. You can see the truck dealer in the background where I bought a Ford Escort that I brought with me when I came to UW-Madison. That car was awesome actually.
And here is West Lima. My Grandmother lived in West Lima so I spent a lot of time there. Her house was burned down (accidentally) by the hippies that moved to town. The town looks really different these days actually. The first picture is from "downtown" West Lima and the next picture is headed out of town towards Yuba.
Next we headed through the hills to Yuba which is where I lived as a kid. The first picture is from just outside of town. The next picture is the Feed Mill which looks exactly as it did when I lived there.
Look for photos from Green Bay, Stevens Point, Minocqua and Waukesha from next week's work road trip!
