Some day I will get caught up

One of these days I'm going to get caught up. I just don't know when that is going to happen. I've got 3 videos still to download and edit. I still have the Cat 1/2 Men, 30+ and Cat 4 Men photos from Cam-Rock to finish editing and upload. This weekend I will have a whole lot more video footage and photos. This is the most behind I've ever been with MadCross coverage.

I can assure you that this is not the weekend that I will get caught up. Tonight I have my friend Dirk's birthday and wine tasting party. I need to look up some good stock wine tasting comments as I really am not a wine connoisseur. I want to throw out some phrases like "I taste a lovely undertone of oak/blackberry/whatever" but I don't doubt that everyone will know I'm full of crap.

Tomorrow I am going to spend the day packing up some of the stuff in my Mom's house for moving to my sister's house. My Mom is probably moving out of the nursing home next week and is moving in with my sister and her family. My sister is a saint for that. I will be spending most of my free time over the next few weekends trying to pack up my Mom's house since she will need to be completely moved out by the end of November.

Then Sunday is race day. I'm going to finalize my costume tonight as that is the most important part of race prep for the weekend. My teammates are all excited for the race as well . . . so far I know one teammate is going as a leopard and one as wonder woman. It's going to be some fun!!The funny part is that last year Washington Park was by far my worst race of the year. I wasn't riding well and part way through the race I mentally gave up. However, the pics of me in my witch costume are my faves from the season. Ironic really. This year if I'm not racing well I'm going to try and keep my mental game on track at least. I won't have pics this year since Dave and I race at the same time so I better enjoy the moment!

The one useful wine tasting line I know, if you like the smell of whatever it is that's in your glass, is "this has a nice bouquet." If you feel like identifying the general impression (earthy, fruity, etc.) you can, but it's not necessary. :-) On another note, if it's muddy this weekend I'm hanging on to your wheel!
