Little Miss Sunshine

Okay, clearly I'm the last person in the blogosphere to see this movie. However, that will not stop me from letting the world know that I think the movie totally rocked. It was awesome in so many ways and if you haven't see it yet then go rent it right now!

The movie reminds me of my first year of college when my friends dared me to enter the local beauty pageant. A better person than me would have laughed off such a dare but I was a bad, bad girl so I did it. I was the most sarcastic, mocking contestant ever and the women who were in charge of the event were not my biggest fans. We had to fill out these questionnaires that they used to say little smarmy things about us when we pranced around the stage. This was the point where people said they "hoped for world peace." I remember that I wrote that my pet peeve was tailgating and they actually used it. And no I had none of the skills required of beauty pageant contestants but I saw the dare all the way through to the end. I'll have to dig out a photo one of these days, scan it in and post it for all of your amusement.

The ending of Little Miss Sunshine for me really was such an excellent ending and was such the perfect sarcastic way to symbolize all that is wrong with pageants.

We haven't seen it, but we have been watching:
Fast and the Furious- Tokyo Drift
Fast and the Furious
2 Fast 2 Furious

Jane has tolerated my new drifting skills in the Impreza, and was EXTREMELY interested when Vin Diesel shows up with a GTO to race the techno rice rockets.

Expect questions, you've been delegated the expert on Detroit Iron.

I'm pleased she's phasing out of competetive gymnastics.
