Week in Review

Sunday/Sad Day - Sunday was the day for a last farewell outing with Jess, Jerry and Kieran Long. We went to Pasquals of course for some good times over margaritas. I'm going to miss my evenings sipping a fine margarita and hanging with Jess and sharing funny, sad or other tales of the week gone by(well, Jerry and Kieran will be missed too but Pasquals was girl time at my end of the table). I'll miss those good times and I can't wait until they come back for a visit. I hope that Idaho treats them well!

Monday - Tried to make it on the CVC ride but I didn't allot enough time to get there. Not a big deal since I needed to get to the Badger Prairie master plan meeting. I'm happy to report that they seemed amenable to not only putting cyclocross into the master plan as a park use but improving the trails for cyclocross. My hope is for a purpose built cx course as the park is redeveloped. That would be SWEET.

Tuesday - Practice crit night. It was actually the night of the dumb driver. It seemed that you could get cars exiting driveways headed in the right direction but then they would suddenly stop and make an unexpected U turn back towards the pack. I think that might have happened 3 times in one night. YIKES.

Wednesday - Family night at the Blackhawk Mtn Bike Time Trials. HUGE success and we had 8 kids in our kid's race, lots of racers and plenty of people for the after party. All that and the mosquitoes weren't out in droves. Good times all around.

Thursday - Tonight I'm back out to Blackhawk for the Mad FORCs poker ride night. Basically the gals on the ride have to find 6 locations I've marked on a map and write down what I've placed at each spot. For each location they find within the allotted time they get a playing card (if you find all then you can discard one card). The best (and worst) poker hands win prizes. My job after work is to get all the items put in the appropriate spot, give everyone maps, send them out and then wait for their return. While I wait I plan to go trail running to make good use of my time.

Friday - I plan to lay around complaining about how hot it is and dreading the weekend's rides. It's bad enough the last couple of days with temps in the mid-80s but we're headed to 90 degrees this weekend. Those beautiful 50 degree days seem so far away. Normally I avoid mtn biking when it's that hot but I think Dave and I are going to go ride some trails on Saturday anyway and he will just have to put up with my pathetic whining.
