Goings on
Life is passing by way too fast these days . . .
Last week was spent in Eau Claire, WI for the Wisconsin Bicycle and Pedestrian Conference. I kind of ended up being the primary organizer for the event (I didn't intend for that to happen but . . . ). Anyway, good conference but exhausting. You'd think at a conference like that I would have gotten out for some good rides but no. I didn't even get to take a bike (the minivan I took was full of display items, 4 people and luggage so no bike for me). I got out for 2 short runs which I traded for getting adequate sleep. That's just the way conferences go.
Last week was also moving week in Madison. You'd think that wouldn't affect a home owner like me but you'd be wrong since our house is 2 apartments. Our summer tenant moved out and our new tenant moved in. Of course, we rented the apartment for the summer as furnished so all that furniture had to be moved out (well, we gave the new tenants a bunch of stuff so we didn't have to deal with it). When I got home from Eau Claire we had way too much furniture in our apartment and more that still needed moved. I started giving stuff away and selling stuff on craigslist (why do people make appts and then stand you up???). Our apartment is total chaos still but tonight someone is supposedly coming to buy our extra queen size bed which will free up some room.
The rest of my time is devoted to cross stuff. Now would be an excellent time to register for the race and an even better time to register for the clinic. And I would just like to mention that trying to get sponsors is exhausting. Thanks to Planet Bike, Lawton and Cates. SC and Harlot Wear for jumping on board and supporting our event!
