Progress

I'm making progress. I can walk, I can go up stairs, and I can ride my trainer for 20 minutes. I can almost bend my right leg the same as my left. I can't really go down stairs and I can't do more than walk. However, there is progress. Right now my right leg is 3.5 cm smaller in circumference than my left so my focus is on getting the strength back.

I get to hang out at Princeton Club West doing leg presses, the weird hip abductor machine, leg raise things and this one other weird machine that I always thought was only for women obsessed with cellulite reduction. I guess now people think that is what I'm doing. I also do forwards, backwards, and sideways walking in the therapy pool against the current. I'd rather be outside but I've become a gym rat.

I can see that eventually I will get back outside though and for now I ride the trainer for my 20 minutes which if I wasn't still going at a fairly easy pace would probably be more than I could handle anyway. Nothing like over 5 months of no real aerobic activity to leave you feeling out of shape.

Anyway, the cyclocross fundraiser kicked ass and I was psyched to have so many people come . . . and I raised money even. With two weeks to organize the event I had no idea but thanks to everyone who helped me line up donations it was a success. I can't wait for Fall!!!!!
