Here's why the Badger Cross Race is going to Rock!
I haven't got the flyer approved for posting just yet but here's some details for those of you who can't wait for the season to begin.
First off we have a great line up of sponsors on board for the event already - Schwinn, Willy Bikes, A Stone's Throw, Kore, JT Whitneys, and Boca Burgers. And I'm still working on a few more.
What does that mean for you racers? It means that once again we will be offering everyone a great lunch so they can stick around and watch the races when they are done. And this year we will have more Boca Burgers and twice as much JT Whitneys root beer and beer.
We also are offering a great prize list--most likely the best in the series. Not only will we have great merchandise prizes from all the sponsors listed above we also are offering what I think is a really good cash payout for the 1/2 women and men. Yes, you heard it here first but we will be offering a total of $715 to 8 place for both the women's and the men's elite race. First place will be $200, second place $150, 3rd place $125 and on down to $25 for 8th place. If you are an elite cyclocross racer you won't want to miss this race!
And if you're thinking of coming to the clinic I already have 10 people registered so don't delay. The clinic info is going up on the WCA website very soon and I expect it will sell out quickly after that. It's on the Cyclocross World site already.
What else is there? All the winners will receive a Badger Cross pint glass to remember the ocassion. And we'll be raffling some off throughout the day as well if you aren't one of the top finishers. Hopefully we're going to have some other good raffle prizes as well since who doesn't love winning something! We'll be doing a Kid's Race again this year and I'm hoping to get the kid's some more goodies besides just cyclocross medals (which are pretty cool actually since they really have a cross racer on them).
We'll also be offering sprecial prizes to the top singlespeed finisher in the cat 4 race and the cat 3 race (both men and women). We'll also have special prizes for the top 40+ adn 50+ women finishers in the cat 4 and cat 3 races.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 1 and make sure you are at Badger Prairie County Park just outside Madison!!

The race sounds amazing! Great job on getting all the sponsors, free stuff, and huge prize purse. I'm always in awe of all you do for cross in WI. Can't wait for Oct 1!
