Oh Canada!

Stopped in a town on the shore of Lake Ontario to do a little ride. Headed down this unmaintained road by the side of a canal. Turned out that the road was a little more unmaintained than we'd bargained for and it got to be a bit unrideable due to deep frozen puddles of water that stretched the whole width of the road. Then we road around town and checked it out before we hit the road to Ottawa.

Hung out in Ottawa seeing the sights . . . once we got oriented as we had no map when we got to town beyond the one in our road atlas. We did alright though and finally got a map at the visitor's center. Dave did go into a gas station in Gatineau (Quebec side of the Ottawa river) and the women asked him if he was lost. She sent us to a hotel and we were good for the night. We went to the National Gallery of Art, the Bayward Market and some other spots yesterday. We had lunch at the Peace Garden vegetarian restaurant in the Bayward Market. So far we've eaten at least one meal a day at a full vegetarian restaurant so that is good traveling!

Today we need to get a few hours out from Providence so we can preride the course Thursday afternoon. I'm not sure I still know how to race a bike!
