We're out here!

It took us all day but we finally left Madison to head east. Luckily for us, Trevor at AMS is the best car stereo specialist in the world. He helped us get our car stereo working again (on this our 3rd visit when we drug him once again out into the cold to try and get our stereo going again). So luckily we now have a working radio that we can play our mp3 player through instead of the cheap $30 boombox we were using. If you need a car stereo buy it from Trevor at AMS as he rocks and helped us get our 9.5 year old car stereo working again instead of trying to convince us to buy a new stereo.

We made it to Chicago a little after 7:30pm. We had a great dinner at The Chicago Dinner complete with mint chocolate chip vegan shake. Now we're at a lovely Super 8 with free wifi in Michigan City.

Not exactly a particularly exciting day one but we had a lot to do before we left - took the winter bikes in for tune ups, put the yakima box on the car, made a second trip to the bike shop to buy new lock cores for the yakima rack (old ones rusted), do laundry, stop at AMS to get stereo working, pack up bike stuff, wax skis, pack up ski stuff, ask cat sitters to stop in, etc. I have to say the combined bike/ski trip requires a whole lot of crap.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a more interesting post.
