Disappointment

It's official the 24 Hours of Telemark is cancelled. I'm bummed on so many levels. Last year this race really kick started my season as I got in more skiing in 24 hours than I imagined and it really gave me a boost of confidence (and endurance) for the races that came later in the season.

Plus, it is so fun to hang out with my teammates and I got to know several women that I didn't know very well and I was looking forward to racing with them again. I also feel guilty over the sponsorship goodies that I got from Mountain Hardwear and Horny Toad. I don't really deserve free goodies as a ski racer at all but especially when I don't even end up doing the race.

Now what to do this weekend? Dave is leaning towards the Stormy Kromer pursuit. I would kind of like to just get in a good base building weekend of long skis so I'm ready for later in the season. I'd love to hit the 24T party but I'll probably go to Minocqua or Ironwood for more reliable snow. Decisions, decisions . . . such is the life of a nordic skier.
