Birkie Fever
I think "Birkie Fever" is an apt title for today's post. So it's really hot out today so "fever" and the deadline for the first price increase in Birkie registration is this week. It's weird to be thinking ski racing when it is horribly hot and humid but skiing is what is on my mind today. This is especially the case since I decided to sign up to do the whole Birkie and not just the Kortoloppet. Yes, indeed 51k of hills to ski up and down on my way from Cable to Hayward.
In bike news, last night was the last local Practice Crit of the season. A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered to be an intersection or driveway guard this season. It's truly appreciated! Also, thanks to the Brazen Dropouts for the gift certificate to Pasquals (which I made use of already last night to get a fine margarita!) and also thanks to Bob from Planet Bike and his friend Dave for the gift certifcates to Ginos (where I hear I can get a nice pitcher of sangria). I appreciate the appreciation!
