Chequamegon Time
Headed up tomorrow to the northwoods for the Fat Tire Festival. I'm not stressing about it as I've never really done well at the race. It doesn't seem to matter if I do the 40 mile race or the 16 mile race. I've been doing it since 1995 though so tradition calls for me to go. Plus I really like the race director and the atmosphere of the race. My favorite part is probably the Friday Funday ride where we hit the singletrack and do a casual ride (although last year Harry Spehar took me on a much longer ride than I had wanted but I got over it).
Of course, I have to get up super early tomorrow so we can make it to Cable in time but since my return from Wales I've been trying to become a morning person. I actually got up at 5:30am this morning to go running (if you knew me well you'd know how difficult that is for me) and it wasn't even the first time.
Reports and photos to come. After this weekend then it is a whole lot of cyclocross weekends in a row.
