Things of interest . . .

Cyclocross magazine

Why you should say no to a plastic bag the next time you're out shopping

Cycle-Smart's cross camp is open for registration now. I was there back in the day. Of course, I came home with a torn ACL and surgery in my future but I still recommend it as a fabulous time where you will learn lots. You might even sit at a table the first night with a cool vegan cxer - if you're lucky. If you're unlucky you'll end up saying something dorky (but true) that is immortalized in a promo piece about the camp and have it included on a cx dvd. It's probably safer to come to the MadCross clinic sponsored by my fabulous team, the Capitol Velo Club. Midwest cross is the next big thing after all.

Chicago Passport Agency . . . I decided just to get in line with all the other people and renew my passport myself. I liked the idea of an expediter service but I guess I like to be self sufficient and do things myself. I created the problem so I figure I should fix it. Plus in the end I'm just too damn cheap to pay someone to stand in line for me. I guess I'm still just a small town farm girl at heart. My reward at the end of what will undoubtedly be a long, painful day will be yummy vegan shakes at The Chicago Diner. That will ease any suffering.

And before I forget . . . a big congratulations to Idaho Jerry who won the Levis Trow 100. I think it nearly killed him as he and Dave returned home in the middle of the night on Saturday as Jerry wanted to sleep in a real bed. Dave had a strong race as well taking 4th in the 25 mile race after riding all day with the 3rd place finisher. He needed just a little more kick at the end. Sounds like a great race that the Chainsmokers put on and I hope to make it next year.

Let me know when you're in town, and I'll come over to the line and heckel you.

Aww... I was just watching the Solutions dvd last night, and thought fondly of 'cross camp and your dorky fear of camps.

No worries, there's also a shot of me shouldering my bike in the most awkward way possible. Better to sound like a dork than look like one.
