Go Wisconsin!

A nice review of the book about Feingold on Salon today. Well, mostly I like that Wisconsin is getting some props. There's a reason that I like living here in cheesehead country.

Shout outs to Lynne and to Mark for their groovy new cyclocross bikes. Hopefully they propel them to great seasons! I'll be sticking with the same Alan bike I've had since I was on the team. Maybe next year will be new cx bike year.

Hopefully Chris survives his 24-9 taper. I'm feeling a little unmotivated this week but hanging out with the four Mad FORCs teams doing the race will hopefully get me amped up for racing come Saturday. I think I need to sleep more as I'm so tired every morning.

And if you're from Madison I command you to read the city's Platinum Bike Committee draft plan and come to the meeting I have scheduled for Monday, August 5 at 6:30pm at the Municipal Bldg. This particular meeting is for all road racers and teams. If you ever wanted a permanent crit course, bmx track, velodrome, better route out of town from your house, more kids racing, etc., etc. then now is the time to act. Things are happening on the mountain bike front as well but this particular meeting is intended to address road rider/racer issues and what we can do to make things happen.

Sorry to hear about the panic attack. Isn't it funny how putting a name on a feeling can just help ya get past it?

There is some other really goofy stuff I discovered- it sounds all new-agey and wierd, but I found that if you not only name your fear, but tap yourself on the face (like, on your closed eyes) and thump your chest a few times all while repeating what the fear is.. it really helps it go away. I think it's because you are reminding your brain that it's connected to a body?

Anyhoo... while you were on the Bomb, I was attending a Water Ballet Show. The water ballerina had worked very hard and did a great job.

I was the Crono on the fixie going the other way on Seminole with another fixie dude. I don't have a training plan other than to get my mileage up at century speed for a while, while doing some leg strength work. Hence the Fixie ride to Paoli... uh, not to mention by rear road bike wheel is being rebuilt. But you are inspiring me... intervals after the Dare!

Love ya Renee (and DB, too.) Hope you can have some zany fun.
