Thoughts . . .
Night riding - Technically dusk riding since night riding isn't allowed at Quarry Ridge. Good group of about 12 gals with lots new to the night ride. Lots of laughter, no injuries. Awesome fun times - riding out, riding around the trails until it was officially not dusk, and then riding home.
Ladies Night at the Time Trial - What can you say except men in dresses is fun for the gals. Judging was tough but a winner was chosen. Photos soon.
Book Report - Finally finished reading the Omnivores Dilemma. The first 3/4 of the book was the best and really made me recommit to thinking about what I eat. The last part of the book was not as well done but overall a worthy read. As a vegetarian I found the section on vegetarianism funny and pathetic and the section on hunting was about the most elitist kind of hunting possible. He should go on a good old small town Wisconsin hunting trip and then write about it. However, you should still read it as it gives you plenty to think about. Now I just need a book that will help me think about the world of finance, investing, etc and ethics, morality and the environment. Suggestions?
24-9 is coming - Chris needs to stop posting the weather outlook on his blog because I can't seem to not look. I'm just hoping that it is wrong as it is making me depressed My teammates are going to regret racing with me if it is that hot as I have never raced well in the heat and we're signed up to race the Natl Championship category.
Hot weather makes me ask Is it Fall yet? Entries are already coming in for the cross clinic. I'm so excited for the clinic and getting more people excited about cross season. Oh yeah, and then 3 days later I'm off to Wales for some super sweet mountain biking and when I return it will be September and only a few weeks to the season starts.
Work - A little plug for the job as the big grant award announcement happened today. Life is busy!
