Fun Times

The weekend included some great training rides, some good food and some yard work. The yard work turned out to be the most dangerous as I sustained a nasty blister on my hand from sawing down the largest shrub in our yard and also some great scratches.

The yard is really starting to shape up though so it's worth the yard work injuries.

Our house after the shrub removal.

Some people buy an air freshner . . . we just drive around with evergreen shrubs in the car.

Today was my birthday. I had a funny conversation with my Mom. For some reason she thought I was 31 and then when I told her I was 38 she said "oh you're middle aged now." That was pretty funny. I also got a nice birthday serenade from my super awesome friend Mattie and my god sons. Totally awesome.

Dave and I had no plans for tonight so we just kind of chilled. Then we headed over to one of our neighborhood restaurants, Inka Heritage. They haven't been open long and when we went right after they opened they had nothing vegetarian. I had heard that had changed so we went back for some great potatoes, plantains, rice, beans and other yummy items including some really good sangria. Indeed they had added vegetarian items to the menu so we can now add Inka Heritage to our list of good places within two blocks of our house. Now we have Inka Heritage, Edo Japanese, and Vientienne Thai Restaurant.

Happy Birthday! Isn't it nice when even your MOM thinks you look younger than you are??

Happy birthday from me, too! And that was some impressive shrub removal, too. :-)
