Need an apartment?
Looking for a great apartment in Madison? I've got one that will be available very soon and it has had many recent updates. Lovely neighborhood and great landlords!
On Monday our tenants emailed to say that they would be moving as soon as they could find a new place (probably in 3 weeks). Why are they moving? They are afraid that we have lead paint in our apartment since our house is old and they are pregnant. I guess I could offer to test the paint but I didn't want to debate the issue as they were clearly freaking otu. If they are worried about living there then they should leave.
It's a bummer though since we have been spending money like crazy on our house in generaal and that apartment specifically. We just put a new cooktop and wall oven in the apartment, redid the bathroom, and will be replacing some windows and refinishing the floors. We're even adding insulation to the attic which should make it warmer next winter.
I'm also bummed because we let them paint last year and they choose really ugly colors. They were planning to repaint to something more subdued but now it will be our job to repaint basically every room. On the upside it will be much easier to redo the wood floors once they move out. Unfortunately this is a really horrible time in our neighborhood to find a renter. Pretty much everyone is on leases that run from Aug 15 to Aug 14. At least with all the work we've done and are doing our apartment should be easily rented for next fall and if we're lucky we might find someone looking for a summer place. That only leaves the apartment empty for 2-3 months.

Must be first time breeders!
I wanna move to Madison! Do you need a SRTS assistant or something? Just kidding. Unless you do, of course. In that case I'm totally serious.
