No slacking allowed
Okay, so my bike is all assembled and is just waiting for the wheels but by the end of this week or beginning of next week I will be the owner of an Alan X33 . . . so watch for me out riding it around. I need lots of work on my mounts and dismounts in the weeks to come though or I'm going to be the slowest cross racer ever. Oh yeah, and I could use some fitness. I've been training though which has made Physical Therapy tough. Nothing like going out and riding hard and doing intervals and combining that with hard PT workouts. I would say that by the end of the week my legs are tired on my short commute to work. It's good though and I'm motivated to try to get into racing shape. If I'm slacking I remind myself that it will really suck getting lapped by the other women in the A race so I better work hard now so I can try and avoid that.
I started working on getting food donated for the Cross clinic today . . . so far I've gotten Willy Street Coop to make a donation. It's nice being friends with the marketing director and his wife. He always helps me out even when he has virtually no budget left . . . and he's not even a bike racer. He is a bike commuter though which helps. So if you aren't shopping at the Coop then start and I highly recommend hitting the deli for tasty and healthy post-ride food that you don't have to cook (which is nice when you're tired). The selection of organic, locally grown veggies is also excellent.
