More skiing
Yesterday I decided I better go out skiing again as I only have a few weeks to get ready for the 24 Hours of Telemark. (What was I thinking saying I would do that????). However, given that I was feeling a little beat up from day one of skiing I decided I would only ski until my knee hurt. I only lasted about 20 minutes before my knee hurt and I went home. Pretty impressive, huh?
After Dave got home from what I like to call his "ski intervention" weekend with the boyzzzz he offered up some ski tips. I guess I'll go try to implement those on Tuesday as I think I'm taking today off from skiing. Hopefully one more rest day and I will stop being sick as I'm really ready to not be sick anymore. I just want to find some ski form, start running, get back to doing yoga and not wake up in the middle of the night coughing uncontrollably. Is that too much to ask for???
In important bike news, did you all see the article in Velo News about Matt Kelly joining the Subaru/Gary Fisher mountain bike team? That is awesome news and couldn't have happened to a nicer guy! I had some great times traveling to cross races with Matt this fall and was hoping that some team would make him an offer. I'm glad to see that everything worked out.
In holiday news, as you all know it's less than a week until Christmas and I have to admit that I have lots of shopping left to do. I did successfully buy gifts for a couple of people on Saturday afternoon but my idea that in 3 hours I could complete the shopping for everyone on my list was naive. I do love my optimism though even if it is misplaced. I should have done more shopping on Sunday but I opted for doing the dishes and going to the grocery store and then recovering from my wicked 20 minute ski outing instead.

I had that same hacking cough thing at the end of October. My daughter actually got pneumonia from it. It pretty much ruined my last few CX races. I tried resting up and doing light workouts leading up to the State CX, and I started feeling better, but unfortunately I kept going anaerobic and had one of my worst races ever. I eventually kicked it and now I'm finally feeling good again, but I was sick for nearly a month! I'd suggest lots more rest, and possibly get checked out and get some antibiotics.
