A day in Superior

Today I headed off to Superior for work. It's a very, very long drive at just over 5 hours. Got here for my 1pm meeting. Meeting actually went very well even though there was some speculation that I would get grilled but I think I did a good job with my presentation and discussion. After the meeting I went for a little run along the lakeshore. Then my assistant, Joe, and I went out for dinner at a great pizza place called Pizza Luce. I had a baked potato pizza (sans bacon) in honer of the baked potato I bought in Detroit. I also got an awesome peanut butter brownie since I had $$ left in my daily food allowance and the brownie is so big it is clearly going to last me the whole week. Tomorrow I have the very long drive back home. Then Thursday it is off to Stevens Point to speak at a safety conference. It's a crazy work week but luckily there is free wireless internet in my hotel room tonight so I've been able to get some work done on race/clinic stuff.

Speaking of cross Tom Held of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal interviewed me this afternoon for his online blog. He's going to do a little piece on cyclocross so look for it this week.

And speaking of online stuff of interest . . . . check out Velo News for an interview with Ben Turner. And also check out Tristan's photo montage of his start at the race on Saturday. He came back from the pedal mishap to have a good race luckily.

And to Mark's question of whether I'll be going to Nats this year . . . I'm undecided. I'm hoping that my fitness is going to take a turn for the better and I'll feel like it's worth the trip. I have a bunch of vacation time left so I'm keeping the option open. It was fun to go last year and I was pretty sick and would like to try do the racing when I'm not ill.

First Wisco cross race of the season is this Sunday!!!! How awesome is that????
